CONTRAINDICATIONS

General Contraindications For Aesthetics Services 

  • No actives for 7 days (retinol products, AHA/BHAs, etc.)

  • No direct sun exposure 2 weeks pre & post treatment

  • No antibiotics

  • Off Accutane for at least a year

(SkinPen,VI Peel, BioRePeel)

Contraindications For Neurotoxin & Filler

Botox/Dysport

  • Must be off antibiotics 2 weeks prior to appointment

  • Hold off on blood thinners 2 days prior to appointment to decrease chances of bruising (Ibuprofen, Aspirin, Alcoholic Beverages, Fish Oil, Vitamin E, ). Tylenol is okay to take.

  • Please notify clinic of an history of autoimmune disorders to be reviewed by RN

 

Fillers

  • No dental work 2 weeks prior to lip filler and 2 weeks after

  • Hold off on blood thinners 2 days prior to appointment to decrease chances of bruising (Ibuprofen, Aspirin, Alcoholic Beverages, Fish Oil, Vitamin E, )

  • No airplane flights scheduled within 72 hours of injections

  • If any active infection near or at the injection site is present, appointment will have to be rescheduled until clear

  • No vaccinations 2 weeks prior to appointment

Contraindications For Laser Hair Removal

  • no sun exposure or tanning beds for 2-4 weeks

  • off accutane for a minimum of 1 year

  • avoid aspirin, motrin, ibuprofen, fish oils, vitamin e, and other blood thinners 5-7 days before your treatment

  • no skin lightening products, retinoids, or actives (chemical exfoliants) for 7 days

  • no self tanning products for 7-14 days

  • no pregnancy/nursing

  • actively infected, sunburned, open, raw, or irritated skin. that includes any rash, ongoing allergic reaction, lacerations, or cold sore in the treatment area. 

  • history of infection in the treatment area including keloids, scarring, psoriasis, etc.

  • abnormal moles/skin conditions in the treatment area

  • history of skin cancer or pre concerous lesions in the treatment area

  • cancer/radiation treatment

  • pacemaker

  • conditions triggered by the sun or heat like rosacea 

  • melasma

  • collagen disorders

  • tattoo in the treatment area

  • light sensitivity/epilepsy 

  • anticoagulants (medicines that help prevent blood clots)/poor blood circulation

  • compromised immune system/auto-immune disorders including: type 1 diabetes, vitiligo, multiple sclerosis, rheumatoid arthritis, lupus, crohn's disease, psoriasis, scleroderma, addison disease, celiac disease, dermatomyositis, graves disease, hashimoto thyroiditis, myasthenia gravis, pernicious anemia, reactive arthritis, sjögren syndrome, etc.

Side effects

  • burn, blister, hyper/hypo pigmentation, lack of expected results, edema, erythema, scarring, pustules/pimples/irritation, swelling, extended healing time
